Reince Priebus on the Biden-Harris threat to PACK the Supreme Court:

8.14.2020 Reince Priebus on Hannity Fox News

Reince Priebus:

“They’re running a race where they are going to do everything they can to not talk about what they believe. They’re not answering questions, they’re not being seen, Biden’s hidden in the basement because they are only running on one thing: which is anti-Trump. Kamala Harris will be defined. She needs to be defined. The reason is that 60% of Americans actually don’t think Joe Biden will finish his first term. Everything you said is true, Congressman. Whether it is the Green New Deal, socialist medicine, DC statehood, liberal courts, but the most disturbing position Kamala Harris has taken is the fact that she wants to expand the Supreme Court, add liberal justices to accomplish the things that you just talked about. Probably the most underappreciated Trump accomplishment is his work on the judiciary. More judges than both of his predecessors combined at this point, two Supreme Court Justices and Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are going to undo all of it.” – Reince Priebus

LONG TERM THINKING BEYOND THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS:

We cannot let the Coronavirus crisis, critical as it is, distract us from the long term need to curb the power of the administrative state and preserve an independent U.S. Supreme Court.

The Madison Coalition is making important progress on curbing the power of federal regulators and permanently prohibiting Congress from altering the size of the Supreme Court

Sooner or later the left will win another election. And their plans include packing the Court, ruling by regulatory decree, running up the debt, and imposing a wealth tax to pay for it.

Before the left wins again, we must permanently take away their power to pack the Court, impose their agenda by regulatory decree, and bankrupt the nation

Of particular importance to the business community is the long term threat of a wealth tax. If the left can pack the Supreme Court, and ban most independent campaign spending and use taxpayer dollars to fund campaigns, a wealth tax, now considered unconstitutional, could become a real possibility.

A Constitutional ban on Court-packing may well be the most effective long term protection against such a tax.

PROGRESS REPORT & ACTION GUIDE

CURB FEDERAL REGULATORS

Key New Endorsements…

The conservative organization “Freedom Works” has endorsed the Regulation Freedom Amendment and the nearly 100,000 strong National Federation of Republican Women has made the Regulation Freedom Amendment one of its three key legislative priorities for 2020.  Candidates around the nation are endorsing the Amendment.

The Regulation Freedom Amendment’s intent is to sharpen the contrast  between those who want un-elected Washington bureaucrats to keep their power to rule by regulatory edict, and those who are serious about preserving the President’s regulatory reforms, taking power away from bureaucrats and returning it to the people.

Just as pressure from the states and voters helped persuade Congress to propose the original Bill of Rights, woman’s right to vote, and presidential term limits. Congress can be persuaded to propose an Amendment to curb the abusive power of federal regulators.

ACTION:

We need your help to ask and persuade every possible candidate and elected official to join the RNC with the approval of the White House, conservatives like Ed Meese and Mike Pence, and 29 state legislative chambers in endorsing and urging Congress to propose the “Regulation Freedom Amendment” to require that major new federal regulations be approved by Congress.

Text:

“Whenever one quarter of the Members of the U.S. House or the U.S. Senate transmit to the President their written declaration of opposition to a proposed federal regulation, it shall require a majority vote of the House and Senate to adopt that regulation.”

PROHIBIT SUPREME COURT PACKING

A Growing Bipartisan Effort…

The “COALITION FOR AN INDEPENDENT SUPREME COURT”, led by Democratic former Attorney General of Virginia Andrew MIller, and backed by several former Democratic and Republican Members of Congress, and the immediate past Chair of the Council of State Governments is leading a bipartisan effort to persuade Congress to propose the “KEEP NINE” Amendment” to the U.S. Constitution which says:

“The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine Justices.”

ACTION:

To create the bipartisan support necessary to persuade Congress to propose this Amendment we need your help to find more Democrats (citizens, community leaders, current and retired elected officials) who are willing to endorse it.

Every candidate running for federal and state office in 2020 should be asked to tell us where they stand on this Amendment that would ensure that no future Congress and President could change the size of the Supreme Court. Polling shows overwhelming 3-1 support.

No candidate should be able to say today “I oppose Court-Packing” without having to say where they stand on a Constitutional Amendment to permanently ban it.

Without an Amendment, when the left next wins control of Washington, they may abolish the Senate filibuster, add new states to pad their Senate majority. and pass a law to increase the size of the Court.  That would undermine the independence of the Court and respect for the rule of law itself. We cannot let that happen, but we must act now, in 2020, to prevent it.

CURB GROWING FEDERAL DEBT

The next time there is a crisis we must ensure America is still fiscally solvent enough to deal with an emergency. That is why it is time to re-invigorate the conversation started by President Reagan who supported a “balanced budget” or “fiscal discipline” Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

A growing network of young people called “DON’T BANKRUPT AMERICA” is working to build support for the idea that an alliance of state legislators in 2/3 of the states, grassroots activists, and sympathetic Members of Congress could, if they came to agreement on Amendment, force Congress to propose an Amendment, much as states and voters helped force Congress to propose the Bill of Rights, a woman’s right to vote, and more recently presidential term limits.

ACTION:

We need your help to find more young

people willing to interested in  participating  in Don’t Bankrupt America’s effort to mobilize the next generation to save their future from fiscal ruin.

The Common Theme:

TAKE POWER OUT OF WASHINGTON!

Polls show that each of these three reforms that curb the abuse of power in Washington:

• REIN in Federal Regulators

• Prohibit Court Packing

• Curb Federal Debt

Commands 2-1 or greater public support.

Each one has the potential to unify and energize advocates of limited government and persuade swing voters.

Together these 3 efforts could be the basis for a new “Take Power Out of Washington” agenda that could help unite advocates of limited government and serve as the foundation for a new long-lasting political majority.
